Showdowns, nestled in Tropic, UT, is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience. With its rustic Americana ambiance and live country music, it creates a lively atmosphere perfect for families and travelers alike. Patrons rave about the perfectly cooked Ribeye and the Campfire Trout, which uniquely combines a tangy tomato topping with the fish's delicate flavor. Josh Ding, a recent visitor, highlights the trout as the "star of the show," while others echo the sentiment with their own favorable remarks about the food.
Families are also well catered for: children leave happy after devouring juicy hamburgers and expertly seasoned steak. The side dishes, including roasted vegetables and mashed potatoes, complement the main courses beautifully, adding to the overall satisfaction of a meal at Showdowns. Although some found the drink selection limited, the ambiance and food quality make it a destination worth visiting, especially for those making the journey to nearby Bryce Canyon.
With both prompt service and an inviting atmosphere, it's clear that Showdowns serves as a highlight on the Zion-Bryce route, ensuring guests leave with full stomachs and lasting memories.

A fun and worth a while establishment in the town of Tropic. If you are staying nearby to visit Bryce, I highly recommend making a trip to visit this restaurant. While inside can get a bit jam packed, there are lots of outdoor seating (at the time of visit, it was too cold to sit outside, hence why the inside was packed). Lots of parking spaces to choose from - just make sure you follow the sign, since it's next to a cabin-style hotels, the parking can get confusing depending on which direction you are coming from. Now the food, DELICIOUS. We ordered Ribeye and Campfire trout, both came out perfectly cooked and seasoned. Campfire trout was the star of the show, tomato top paste gave it a slight tangy taste without overpowering the trout's own flavor. Drink selection was a bit limited and cocktail missed the mark, but again, given the location, it was reasonable and I wouldn't hold it against the restaurant. Hope to come back again in the future while visiting Bryce!

Such a super fun stop to find on our way from Bryce to Escalante. The steak was cooked perfectly and was great for my 10 year old who ate it all. My 9 year old devoured his hamburger and declared it delicious! My husband ordered the trout and said it was fantastic. The brisket I ordered was good. My portion included a lot of burnt ends, which isn’t my favorite but I know most people love that. The live music was the real treat. Perfect vibe we were hoping for.

What a pleasant surprise to find good foods at last on our Zion-Bryce trip! We liked this place so much we ate here on both nights while in town. Every thing we ordered were good, especially the BBQ Ribs and the Trout. The roasted vegetables (broccoli) & mashed potatoes side dishes were delicious and generous in size. Service was prompt and friendly. The atmosphere was Americana itself. I recommend this restaurant if you’re in the area.

Had a fantastic experience at Showdowns near Bryce Canyon! As someone with symptomatic celiac disease, I’m very careful with what I eat—and I had no symptoms at all here, which is always a huge relief. Their menu clearly marks gluten-free options, and there are plenty to choose from—soups, salads, BBQ, and burgers (though the burgers are served without a bun). They don’t have a dedicated gluten-free fryer, so unfortunately the fries aren’t safe, but there are great alternatives. I had a cheeseburger with mashed potatoes and a side salad, and everything was really tasty. The atmosphere was amazing—live country music and a warm, rustic setting that I absolutely loved. Would definitely go back!

Music everyday from 630 to 930. There is a fire pit outside to sit beside if you have a wait. We had burgers and they were great. Nice beer selection as well.

Such a wonderful establishment! Taylor was our waitress, she was so sweet and very helpful. She is the type of waitress you get every once in a blue moon. The live music was amazing and really added to the serine environment of the gorgeous surrounding area and it was a sit down and talk and enjoy type of experience. The food was stellar and I loved the fish. So succulent!

The best restaurant in town! I would even go further to say I had the best American food in the USA at this place. As soon as you get seated, you’re served a nice bowl of popcorn and a pitcher of cold water. We had dinner here every day that we stayed around Bryce Canyon, and for good reason - amazing food, cold beer that comes with a frozen glass, live music and fantastic service. Everything was delicious but my favorites were the brisket, trout and ribs - all so tender, juicy and tasty. Really, try to visit there if you’re around Bryce. Worth the drive even if you’re not in Tropic. It can get busy though, so I would recommend to come before 7pm.
